About Me

Hi, my name is Lucille and I’m an approximately 5yr old Dachsund. I came to VPRP from our local shelter, severely overweight, suffering from painful bladder stones, and I had a yucky mouth. Luckily, they got me all fixed up and I’ve been working hard on my hot girl summer bod in my foster home ?? I’m a lowkey gal, I get along fine with big dogs, small dogs, cats, and even kids, but I’d be content in a home with just human companions as well. I’ve been working diligently on my potty training (ya know…doxies ?) and I’ve made huge strides, I just need routine and for my new home to learn my potty cues. I’ve also been learning crate training, I now tolerate the crate until I’m hungry or need to go potty, but I’d much rather be lounging next to my person or on the couch. I enjoy walks, small squeaky toys, and burrowing under blankies. I use my doggy stairs to get up onto the couch; and doggy stairs and ramps will be necessary in my new home to avoid any back issues that us doxies are prone too. Due to my poor previous diet and bladder stones, I require prescription urinary food. I don’t mind though, it’s tasty! ? My foster mom also sprinkles potassium citrate on my food which was recommended by the vet and is required in my diet. I LOVE snacks…..but due to being a little thicccccc in my previous life, I’m limited to veggies (zucchini makes me go bananas ?), freeze dried proteins, and I even get these tasty urinary health treats that taste like peanut butter and banana. ?? I’m seeking a Dachshund savvy home that will treat me like the princess I am ? Keep in mind my prescription diet is a bit pricey (no more than any other high quality food ?) and there’s always a possibility to get stones again later on down the road so I’ll need to be established with a good veterinarian.
